Wellesley High English teacher David McCullough, Jr., who converted his “You’re Not Special” speech into a book deal that comes to fruition this month, will speak at 7pm at Wellesley Middle School on Wednesday, April 9.
The talk is geared towards parents of pre- and young teens. When asked him about whether his book (“You Are Not Special & Other Encouragements”) would be of interest to parents of kids this age, he said: “As for the book and middle schoolers… While the book was written for and about high school kids, I think there’s enough in it of interest to readers concerned with younger teenagers. Besides, younger teenagers become older teenagers awfully quickly!”
