Wellesley High Principal Andrew Keough, who has accepted the position as Superintendent of the Easton, Mass. school system, wrote to Wellesley school parents and guardians about his decision:
Dear Wellesley Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to officially notify you that I have formally resigned from my position as Principal of Wellesley High School, effective June 30, 2014, in order to assume the role of Superintendent of Easton Public Schools.
Although excited about the opportunity before me in Easton, I will always be thankful for my time here in Wellesley, where I have met incredibly talented and generous people, who were not only dedicated to placing the best interests of children first, but to ensuring a quality education for all regardless of circumstances. I am certain I will miss working with your children, but I will always be appreciative of the great trust you placed in me and the freedom you afforded me to lead our school.
In reflecting on what will soon pass, I want to thank my teachers, my administrative team, Superintendent’s David Lussier and Bella Wong, and the community of Wellesley for their continued support over the past seven years. I also want to assure you that I remain fully committed to ensuring a smooth and successful transition to the new leadership of Wellesley High School in the coming weeks and months.
Thank you again for your support throughout the years. It’s been a privilege serving you.
Sincerely,
Andrew W. Keough
