Wellesley High’s outgoing principal Andrew Keough has gotten caught up in David McCullough, Jr., mania, as the Wellesley High English teacher’s “You Are Not Special and Other Encouragements” book is nearly here. McCullough is doing the rounds this Spring in Wellesley and elsewhere promoting the book, in which the author takes issue with the culture of exceptionalism and success that is keeping teenagers from the most important lessons in life – taking chances, learning from mistakes, connecting with a wider world, and doing something purposeful with the advantages given them.
Keough tweeted out this picture of a cake celebrating McCullough’s book launch, slated for April 22.
