Congratulations to Jamie Chisum, who is moving on up from assistant principal to principal of Wellesley High School for the upcoming school year.
Chisum, who takes on his new job July 1, was chosen over Newton North High School Vice Principal Marguerite “Midge” Connolly.
Chisum has been with the Wellesley Public School System since 1999, initially as an English teacher and later as interim head of the Middle School. He’s been an assistant principal at Wellesley High for 7 years.
It was widely expected in Wellesley that Chisum, who recently earned his doctorate of education at Boston College, would be a candidate. He has a B.S. from Brandeis and an M.S. of Education from UMass Amherst.
Chisum replaces Andrew Keough, who last month announced that he’d be leaving to become superintendent of schools in Easton, Mass.
