The Wellesley Department of Public Works and Facilities Maintenance Department have resolved the Schofield Elementary School plumbing issues that resulted in sewage backups on Tuesday and the school being closed on Wednesday. Superintendent David Lussier says Schofield will re-open at its regular time on Thursday.
He’s also looking to get a waiver from the state regarding the lost time resulting from Wednesday’s school closing.
It remains to be seen whether organizers of the Schofield 5K road race and fun run on Sunday, June 1 will add any sort of sewage section to the course.
