Wellesley Friendly Aid Association is looking for washers and dryers in good working condition for use by residents of the Barton Road housing complex. Contact Karen Mondell, Program Administrator, at 781-235-3960 if you can help.
Friendly Aid’s mission is to offer assistance to Wellesley residents of all incomes and ages who have a variety of unmet needs. The volunteer-run organization works to improve the well-being and quality of life of the residents of Wellesley. Almost all of its financial support comes from Wellesley residents and businesses, which allows Friendly Aid to sponsor the English as a Second Language program in town; help residents to process applications for fuel assistance; provide summer camp financial assistance; and provide walkers, shower chairs, wheelchairs, and other medical equipment to residents of all income levels for temporary loan at no charge, among other services.
Helping neighbors since 1898, back when the population topped out at 5,000 (the town is home to a robust 28,000 now, according to the 2010 US Census), Friendly Aid welcomes volunteers at any time.
