Here’s the latest on the North 40 property that Wellesley College is looking to sell and that the town of Wellesley is interested in buying:
*A request for proposals has been issued by the Wellesley North 40 Steering Committee to find a planning consultant to conduct a vision study and land use alternative analysis for the parcel along Weston Road and Rte. 135. Proposals are due by July 17. We’ll see how creative consultants can get. How about putting the Boston Olympics stadium on the plot?
*The Wellesley Trails Committee has scheduled 3 more guided walks of the North 40 property:
July 19, Saturday (9-10 a.m.)
August 9, Saturday (9-10 a.m.)
September 13, Saturday (9-10 a.m.)
This easy and enjoyable walk will take trails adjacent to the Crosstown Trail along the Cochituate Aqueduct, through woodlands and a pine forest, to a vernal pool and the community gardens.
Meet at 9:00 at the gate to the town beach, located at the end of Turner
Rd., 0.3 mi. west of Weston Rd. Walks take place in rain, unless it pours.
