Former Wellesley High and Little League star Nate Freiman, who broke into major league baseball last season with the Oakland A’s but started this season with AAA Sacramento, is back in the big leagues again this weekend. Freiman gets the call-up because A’s outfielder Josh Reddick has been placed on the disabled list.
Freiman has put up big power numbers for the Sacramento River Cats in 76 games, including 14 homers and a league-leading 69 RBI.
Freiman returned to Wellesley in November to share stories of his rookie season in the majors.
