Wellesley party/gala season in full swing

At the risk of encouraging too many others to send in their Wellesley party pictures and turning us into the society pages, here’s a sampling of photos from May events:

Wellesley Historical Society

The Society honored Stan Pratt and family during a dinner and auction at Wellesley Country Club that attracted about 185 attendees and  raised tens of thousands of dollars for the organization. An excellent documentary told the story of the Pratts’ contributions to Wellesley. During the live auction, a signed Tom Brady shirt went for more than $1K, as recently retired sportscaster Mike Dowling of Wellesley did a nice job encouraging generosity.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital Charitable Foundation’s 15th Annual Gala, “Helping Kids Spread Their Wings”

This event at the Westin Copley Place was attended by 750 people and raised $1.2 million for the hospital’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service. The three most recent Red Sox World Series trophies were on display and Wellesley High grad Michelle Chamuel, who shot to national fame last year during her appearances on the TV singing contest The Voice, performed.
