For those of you sick of bank after spa after bank filling storefronts across Wellesley, there’s a new business in town that should earn your patronage: a glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course dubbed Glowgolf.
Yes, it’s a tad less outdoorsy than Wellesley Country Club and Nehoiden Golf Club at Wellesley College and even the excellent (and educational!) Village Green course on Rte. 9 in Natick. But Glowgolf (which used to have a course at Natick Mall) is conveniently located indoors next to Unleashed by Petco in Linden Square, so it would be a nice option on downpour days like yesterday.
Glowgolf — not to be confused with the glow-in-the-dark Monster Golf courses found elsewhere in Massachusetts — features 18 holes and you can play up to 54 holes with your admission. There’s an area for birthday parties and group events, too. Think about the possibilities of combining a trip to Glowgolf with a run over to Needham Bowlaway for some candlepin bowling under the black lights. Wear your favorite florescent cycling or yoga clothes and you’ll be all set for a wild time on the town.
Glowgolf, based in Wichita, Kan., charges $10 for adults and $8 for kids, with group and family discounts available. Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Having just taken a beating at mini golf on the Jersey Shore last week, I seriously need to go practice my putting at this new place…
(Readers: Does anyone know if Wellesley has ever had a mini golf course? And I don’t mean the golf simulators that can now be found in certain man caves across town.)
