Socks were used to remind occupants at one Wellesley home not to drink from the faucet or use ice cubes from the fridge ice maker.
The town used duct tape and yellow warning tape to ward off would-be water fountain users.
The town’s water boil order was lifted on Saturday afternoon, following the warning issued Thursday after a positive E. coli test from near one of Wellesley’s reservoirs.
