Wellesley’s Sustainable Energy Committee says that the number of solar-powered homes in town has increased from 8 when it began its solar push in the spring to around 70 (well, by year end).
The Power to Choose promotion, which includes big discounts on solar installations, will enable the town “to generate at least 440,000 kilowatt-hours of additional renewable electricity a year. By reducing the peak load, the Municipal Light Plant will lower its fixed capacity charge and the savings will be shared by all MLP customers.”
If interested in seeing if solar makes sense for you, register at WellesleyPowerToChoose.com and check the solar box, or call 617 983-8141. The group discount of about 30% will continue until October 31.
