Newton-Wellesley Hospital has updated its visitor rules in light of the outbreak of enterovirus D68, a respiratory illness affecting children and adolescents:
Enterovirus D-68 Visitor Restrictions
To limit the spread of Enterovirus D-68, a respiratory virus that primarily affects children, adolescents and young adults, Newton-Wellesley Hospital is putting temporary visitor restrictions in place. Visitors under 19 years of age may not visit the Pediatric Unit, Nursery, Special Care Nursery or the Maternity Unit. If you, or any children with you, are on your way to a doctor’s appointment and have any respiratory symptoms, please put on a mask from our precaution cart. And, please do not forget to wash your hands with soap and water frequently. Thank you.
