The Wellesley Village Church, located at 2 Central St. in Wellesley Square, is holding its annual rummage sale on Saturday, November 1, 9am – 1pm.
Speaking of the church, also known as Wellesley Congregational Church, it is the subject of the Wellesley Historical Society’s History Mystery for October. The question: On the Halloween evening of October 31, 1900 the bell of the Wellesley Congregational Church began to toll without a soul in sight! Deacons, policemen and residents rushed to the scene but found the church in darkness and no one pulling the rope to the bell; however, the bell continued to toll through the evening!
