The Fuller Brook Park preservation project has been moving along according to schedule. During the past week, the contractor has continued to install and test helical pile foundations for the proposed raised walkways between Forest and Paine Streets (this section will remain closed until January 2015) and on the path from the High School to Hunnewell Field (this section is expected to reopen sometime this month). Work continues on the bioretention basins (pictured) between Abbott and Caroline Streets, intended to filter stormwater and improve water quality in Caroline and Fuller Brooks. New roadway drainage was also installed on Caroline Street.
Looking ahead to next week, the contractor will plant and seed at the bioretention basins, begin path work between Forest and Paine Streets, and begin in-stream construction work from Caroline to Forest Streets.
