The Friends of the North 40, a group urging Wellesley College not to sell its Weston Road/Rte. 135 property to developers, is inviting the public to join a teach-in/demonstration on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 1pm. The event will take place at the corner of Central Street and Weston Road, on the Fire House sidewalk and lawn, across from the Wellesley College entrance.
“We are demonstrating to send a message to the College to stop their rushed sale in order to fully consider a) the opinions of their alumnae, and b) not-for-profit land trusts that the College’s bidding process excluded,” the group says.
Wellesley College has narrowed down to 5 the number of bidders in contention for its North 40 property, and the town remains in the running for it. A decision could be announced by year-end.
