For those of you who were inconvenienced or just plain puzzled by the Connecticut Lottery film crew that was doing its thing in Wellesley Square one night/morning in September, temporarily turning the center of town into a holiday wonderland, the moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived. Yes, the glorious 30-second ad spot created back then is now airing.
You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll scratch!
While you might not find the commercial on your TV, rest assured you can view it on YouTube (and below), where it has racked up a whopping 368 views since being posted on Dec. 2. (Sorry, the lottery has blocked you from commenting on the ad on YouTube, so you won’t be able to gush over it there.)
The ad features a spellbinding soundtrack, including the most unique and clever song idea ever: Forcing an inspirational message about buying scratch tickets for gifts against the the music from a traditional Christmas song!
The spot also boasts a sparkling holiday parade down Central Street that should give Wellesley Wonderful Weekend Veterans’ parade organizers some inspiration for their event next spring.
And as one reader noted, the real message of the ad might be: If you want to afford a house in Wellesley, you better win the lottery.
(Thanks to reader GM for pointing out the ad’s arrival.)
HI folks, I played “Chris” the singing store clerk in this commercial. Coincidentally I’m also on the music staff of Wellesley Hills Congregational Church. This is the second time we’ve shot a commercial for CT in Wellesley. My first time being 2 years ago playing the same character. you can view that spot here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZBQVlVEPbc
OK Chris, now we feel bad for poking fun at it…
You mean to tell me, that shooting in Greenwich CT, would not have been more appropriate?
