Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills (309 Washington St.) is hosting a free screening of and discussion about “Growthbusters: Hooked on Growth” on Feb. 27 at 7:30pm.
The pitch:
Have you ever questioned the conventional wisdom that growth will solve our problems? Are economic growth and consumption overwhelming all that conservation and technology might do to keep the world in balance? Come see a
dramatic documentary that may shake our common assumptions with out-of-the-box conversations, analysis, and thinking.
Growthbusters: Hooked on Growth is a 55-minute documentary that examines what may be the most critical issue of our time – our society’s addiction to unsustainable growth. Discussion will follow the movie, facilitated by Mike Hanauer, a director of GrowthBusters.org.
This is the first of a series of programs that will focus on issues of escalating in equality.
Sponsored by the Wellesley UU Learning Community and Green Sanctuary Team.
