The Wellesley DPW is asking residents to check catch basins (storm drains) near their homes. If a catch basin is covered in snow, the DPW asks that residents clear the snow away to allow stormwater to drain. The forecast for this weekend includes the possibility of rain. Localized flooding may occur if the catch basin is not cleared.
There are over 3,600 catch basins in the town of Wellesley. The Wellesley DPW has been working all week to widen and clear the roads of snow, as well as to expose and clear catch basins. If you know of a catch basin that is close to your property and is covered in snow, please take some time to clear it out.

It is a fine idea, suggesting residents clear storm drains, but our street (Duxbury Road) is more of a toboggan run than a street. The town cleared the center of the street and never returned, despite of complaints. Finding the storm drains is virtually impossible, and if you could locate them there is probably hundreds of pounds of frozen slush and snow now in the way.
Great suggestion, but only if the town could helps us out a little would it be realistic.
