Update from the Wellesley Police Department, 2/15/15, 1:30 pm:
On Saturday, February 14, 2015 at approximately 2:02 p.m. the Wellesley Police Department’s Emergency Communication Center received a 9-1-1 call from an employee at TD Bank, located at 380 Washington Street, Wellesley.
The employee indicated that a bank robbery had just occurred. The suspect was described as a tall and thin male party. He was further described to be approximately 6’1” tall, wearing all black clothing, including black pants, a black hooded jacket, black gloves and his face was covered. Employees believe that the male party fled the bank on foot. A verbal threat was made to the teller, but there were no weapons shown. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the bank.
Detectives from the Wellesley Police Department responded, interviewed witnesses and are currently investigating the incident. The Massachusetts State Police assisted the Wellesley Police Department with the investigation by providing a K-9 to help search the area for the suspect.
The Wellesley Police Department is asking that anyone who has any information about this incident or anyone who may have been in the area of Washington Street at Forest Street around 2:00 p.m. today and observed anything suspicious to call the Wellesley Police Department at 781-235-1212.
