Wellesley firefighters are urging the public to adopt and shovel out fire hydrants so that emergency personnel can easily get to the hydrants if necessary. WFD is even holding a contest, giving away shirts, hats etc., to some of those who share photos of them shoveling out hydrants on the fire department Facebook page.

If we can afford to spend $35 million on the north 40, we can afford to pay some high school students $15/hr to shovel the hydrants.
