MisterWives, an upbeat band from New York that’s getting lots of love in indie music circles, will be the main performer at this year’s Wellesley College spring celebration in April. The band issued is first full album, Our Own House, last month.
The event will be held in Tishman Commons on campus on April 3, starting at 8pm. The show is free for Wellesley College students, $5 for guests with a college ID. MisterWives performs at the Paradise in Boston on April 1 for a show that currently appears to be sold out.
The college has a solid history of getting out in front with bands that go on to bigger things (MisterWives is currently MTV’s Artist to Watch). Past acts have included The Decemberists, Macklemore and Santigold.
