Babson College every year issues a community report that gives it a chance to remind us of how lucky we are to have the school in the neighborhood. Indeed, we do try to take advantage of what Babson offers the public, including cultural, sports and other offerings.
Anyway, a few fun or at least interesting facts from the 21-page report, which is also available online:
*Babson spent $5.7 million in Wellesley during its 2013-14 fiscal year. This total includes $75K in lieu of taxes.
*Babson paid $61K to Wellesley for room occupancy taxes, license and fees.
*The school awarded $15K in Wellesley town scholarships to one student
*99 Wellesley residents work at the school
*Babson serves as a host site for Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, Pan-Mass Challenge, PMC Kids Rides and the annual Officer Savage road race.
*It pledges to be carbon neutral by 2050.
