The third edition of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s Shakespeare & Leadership series is slated for Tuesday, April 28 at Babson College’s Carling-Sorenson Theatre in Wellesley, and will feature a bunch of business executives doing a staged reading of King Lear.
Directed by Steven Maler and featuring Boston actor Will Lyman, confirmed participants include Kerry Healey President, Babson College; Jarrett Barrios CEO, American Red Cross, Los Angeles Region; Roger Berkowitz, President and CEO, Legal Sea Foods; Jack Connors, Chairman, Hill Holiday; William “Mo” Cowan, Former US Senator, Senior VP and COO ML Strategies; Jonathan Davis, CEO, CIO and Founder The Davis Companies, Fay Donohue, CEO Delta Dental of Massachusetts; Sylvia Ferrell-Jones President and CEO of YWCA Boston; Donna Latson-Gittens, MORE Founder and CEO;; and Jim Rooney, Executive Director at Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, Kate Walsh is President and CEO of Boston Medical Center, and Ralph Welborn, Chief Executive Officer, Imaginatik.
The event, which kicks off at 7pm and is co-sponsored by BabsonARTS, will also include a panel discussion of leadership issues raised by the play’s text. The performance is free, with reservations requested. For more information visit commshakes.org or 617 426-0863.
This summer, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company will present King Lear as it’s 20th Anniversary Season of Free Shakespeare on the Boston Common July 22 – August 9. Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is the Theatre in Residence at Babson College.
