Mezzo-soprano Eileen McLoughlin Christiansen, a Wellesley native, returns to town to perform at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30pm. She’ll appear with the MetroWest Choral Artists under the direction of Leonardo Ciampa, whose original choral and vocal compositions will be performed.
A Wellesley High grad, Christiansen went on to study at Wesleyan University, where she majored in Western Classical Voice. Upon graduation, she returned to the Boston area and has soloed with such groups as the Masterworks Chorale, the Falmouth Chorale and Orchestra, Wellesley Choral Society, Polymnia Choral Society, the Boston Cecilia, the Belmont Open Sings, and the Salisbury Singers. Her operatic roles include Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Jaffett in Benjamin Britten’s Noye’s Fludde, and the Mother in Gabriella Snyder’s The Rough-Face Girl: An Algonquin Cinderella Story.
