Dana Hall School
welcomes meteorologist Mish Michaels as part of its 2014-15 Wannamaker Lecture Series. Michaels, an Emmy Award-winning broadcast meteorologist and environmental reporter in Boston, will speak to the Dana Hall community on Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. in Bardwell Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Michaels began her career in Boston with WHDH (NBC) in 1992 as the weekend meteorologist. During that time she was twice named “Boston’s Best Meteorologist” by the Improper Bostonian. Michaels then worked for WBZ (CBS) from 2001-09.  Michaels has also worked on numerous educational projects related to meteorology with various organizations including the Harvard Smithsonian Institute and the Blue Hill Weather Observatory, where she continues to support the WINS (Women in the Natural Sciences) program. The WINS program aims to inspire adolescent girls to pursue careers in math, science and technology through study of the atmosphere.

Michaels has been in the local news of late for her work with local students in getting Ms. G named as the state groundhog. Michaels followed that up with a book about the groundhog.

The Wannamaker Lecture Series, in memory of Lyall Wannamaker Plumb ’55, is an endowed fund made possible by members of the Dana Hall Class of 1955, friends and the Wannamaker family.

Bardwell Auditorium is located on the Dana Hall campus at 37 Cameron Street in Wellesley. For more information please call (781) 235-3010. Please note that Bardwell Auditorium is not handicap accessible.
