Road racing rules in Wellesley during the Spring.
In addition to the Boston Marathon, which goes through town on April 20, here’s a look at other races.
*Officer Stewart Savage Memorial 5K Road Race/Fun Run: Sunday, May 3. Held at Babson College, the run run starts at 10, the road race at 11am. $20 pre-registration, $25 day of race (fun run is free). Get your application here.
*Wellesley 1 Miler: Sunday, May 10 (Mother’s Day). This annual race takes place at Elm Bank Reservation, beginning at 9am. The race is being organized by New England Track & Trail, a MetroWest-based running group. All are welcome, from competitive runners to families with small children. The race will feature a scenic course, kids’ activities, food, and prizes! All proceeds go to the Hannah Randolph Memorial Fund, established in the memory of a Wellesley High School freshman who died in a ski accident in 2012. The fund provides scholarships to WHS ninth graders who share Hannah’s passion for sports, community service, and the arts.
*Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club Wonder Run 5K road race and Kids Fun Run: Sunday, May 17th at 8am with a kids fun run starting at 9am following the 5k. The race will start at the Wellesley High School. Pre-registration is $25 for the 5k and $5 for the fun run and $30 and $10 the day of the race.
*Schofield 5K, Kids’ Fun Run & Fun Fair: Sunday, June 7 at Schofield Elementary School on Cedar Street. A race on a hilly course followed by a fun fair featuring rides, games and food. Race starts at 9:30am, kids’ fun run at 10:30am, and the fair after that. Register here.
