A trust fund has been set up for Old School Pizza owner Joe Perdoni, Jr.’s son Joey and daughter Reece in the wake of their father’s death this past week. Joe is survived by his wife Sarah and their two children.
A crowdfunding page has been set up and donations can also be made in Joe’s memory to the Joe Perdoni Family Trust c/o Joseph Perdoni Sr., 6 Francis St., Wellesley, MA 02482.
One way that some locals will pay tribute to Joe is by joining to run 5K together on Thursday, May 21 at 8:45am, starting at the Starbucks on Linden Street. Organizer Carol Chaoui (who says Joe cheered her on during this year’s marathon from in front of Old School) had already been planning a little Red Nose Day run, inspired by a tradition started in the UK to raise money and awareness for children’s charities. As a friend of Joe’s, she thought it would be nice to do the run for him and raise some money for the trust fund. So, if you see a pack of runners in red noses on Thursday, that’s who they are. And you’re welcome to join them.
Meanwhile, Old School reopened on Saturday.
