Originally planned as a casual Red Nose Day run through the streets of Wellesley by a group of friends, the run-and-chat session was converted almost on the fly into a fundraiser for the Joe Perdoni Family Trust and wound up raising about $3,000. The fund was established following the death of Joe Perdoni, Jr., owner of Old School Italian Pizzeria in Wellesley Square, and is up over $24K.
Organizer Carol Chaoui and friends, outfitted with the gang with red noses and rewarded with red nose shortbread cookies afterward, described the outing as “a beautiful celebratory run and I am sure Joe would be proud!”
