Wellesley High School is listed at #15 in the state and #285 nationally in this year’s US News & World Report rankings of best public high schools. The national rankings are based on schools’ performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.
Last year Wellesley was at #4 and #164 (not seeing the 2014 info on the site still, so hard to tell if ranking criteria has changed year to year).
What’s more, Wellesley is ranked #66 nationally as a STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) school, based on “students’ participation and success in Advanced Placement science and math tests.” No surprise there given the big STEM push in town, including the conversion of the school into a science museum for the recent STEM Expo.
