The Wellesley Celebrations Committee is still seeking Vietnam-era veterans to be honored as the Grand Marshals in the 47th Annual Veterans’ Parade, to be held next Sunday May 17th.All participants are asked to be at the Wellesley Community Center by 12:15PM on Sunday.
The parameters for a Vietnam-era vet are: A Vietnam Era Veteran qualifies if one served on active duty for more than 180 days in the Republic of Vietnam, between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975 OR served on active duty for more than 180 days for any time between August 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975.
In addition to the Vietnam Era vets being specially honored this year, we welcome all veterans, from anytime in service, to be with us and be participants in the Parade. Hopefully, all veterans can wear an article of their uniform, such as a cap, shirt or something representing their service. If not the entire uniform.
