Wellesley is standing tall after being presented with the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA award. The town has racked up 32 of the awards, presented annually to Massachusetts communities that demonstrate high standards in urban and community forestry programs.
There are some mighty fine trees around town. A few of our favorites are:
1) Red Oak at Post Office Park
2) White Oak at Hunnewell School
3) Purple Beech at the Hills Library
4) Oak at Warren Park
5) Pink Horsechestnut at the Town Hall
6) Dawn Redwood planted for 9/11, at the Town Hall
