Just in time for Morses Pond’s opening this week comes a cheeky call from a fresh voice in the Wellesley blogging wilderness for the local swimming hole to be renamed “The Wellesley Riviera.”
Wellesley’s Julia de Peyster (perhaps you recall her “busting” a move at a local storytelling event) is the resident rabble-rouser who counts herself among the local minority whose home is a “four-season house” and could stand to get a bit more out of Morses Pond.
I would like to propose that the mood of stylish summer recreation would be mightily enhanced with one simple name change. I invite you to join me in banishing the term, “Morses Pond” from your vocabulary and instead, envision the dawn of a new era where we as a community join together with friends and family on the beaches of The Wellesley Riviera. All that this necessitates is that you acquire, in the next 2 weeks, a few accoutrement (that’s “Ah-Coo-Treh-Mon,” for the uninitiated amongst us).
You can read de Peyster’s full take on The Wellesley Riviera, as well as her thoughts on subjects ranging from Eating after 50 to Joe Biden’s college advice, at her new blog, which is called “Dispatches from the Cave.”
