Boston Catholic Insider, a blog written by anonymous people “with close ties to the Archdiocese of Boston,” has posted the first of at least a two-part series on the closing of Wellesley’s St. Paul School. We first reported on St. Paul School closing this past Friday.
In its post, Boston Catholic Insider calls the official St. Paul announcement deceptive for blaming a lack of commitment by parents rather than mismanagement on the part of the administration. The post documents the precipitous fall in enrollment in recent years amidst changes in leadership.
The post concludes with:
“So in a period of three years, a stellar, high performing Catholic school with a 60-year history was allowed to disintegrate. A school that was the only Boston Archdiocese Catholic school that, in addition to innumerable doctors, lawyers, priest, religious, teachers, nurses and other professionals, had a MacArthur Fellow among its alumni and which had passed the faith to generations of the faithful was left to implode.”
