Wellesley residents are invited to attend a meeting on Friday, Sept. 25 to explore the possibility of the town instituting a plastic bag ban as more than a dozen other Massachusetts communities have done.
The free event, which takes place from 6:30-8:30pm at the Unitarian Universalists of Wellesley (309 Washington St.) will include a 45-minute version of the film “Bag It: Is Your Life Too Plastic?” and a discussion with Newton Alderman Alison Leary, who worked on Newton’s recently implemented bag ban.
Pizza and light refreshments will be provided by UU Wellesley, so please click here for the optional pre-registration to assist with food estimates.
Event sponsors include UU Wellesley (Green Sanctuary Ministry Team and Learning Committee), Sustainable Wellesley, and the Town of Wellesley 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Working Group.
