About those pre-fab units at the old St. James the Great property

October 23, 2015 by Bob Brown

We had a couple of questions about those trailer-like units parked in the lot formerly occupied by St. James the Great Church at 900 Worcester St., in Wellesley.

We asked Wellesley Executive Director Hans Larsen, who says these are pre-fab boxes to be installed further east on Rte. 9 at the rear of 978 Worcester St., where 36 residential condos or apartments are being constructed.  So behind where the Dunkin’ Donuts and old Justine’s restaurant is on Rte. 9 East. So essentially, you’re getting a sneak peek at some new Wellesley housing.

“Consistent with the practice begun by the prior owner of the property (i.e., the Archdiocese), the developer has made a contribution to the Town’s War Memorial Scholarship Fund,” Larsen added.

Uncharacteristically uninformative. The last paragraph seems gratuitous.

This is a poorly composed item. It leaves the readers more confused than they were. What are you trying to convey?

Just trying to let people who were asking about those trailers know what they are there for. They’re part of a new condo/apartment complex being built behind the Dunkin’ Donuts etc on Rte. 9 West.
