Well over 100 kids from grades 2-10 played flag football late Saturday afternoon/early evening to raise funds for the Wellesley Field Fund, the Perdoni Family Trust and the middle school age recreational programs put on by Community Investors. Wellesley High School and Middle School students reffed and coached, while local businesses and the Bates Elementary School PTO donated food and drinks, making it a real community affair.
New England Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich gave of his pre-curfew time to interact with the kids on the filed and sign autographs at registration. And based on the strong game he had vs. the Jets on Sunday, he might need to make visits to Wellesley part of his routine.
