A reminder to set aside coins for Halloween this coming weekend in Wellesley, as many trick-or-treaters will be looking to collect your spare change on behalf of UNICEF, which raises millions of dollars for children who’ve been victims of war, natural disasters, exploitation or disease.
This year alone, UNICEF has been on the front lines of the migrant crisis, the West African Ebola outbreak, assisting children in Syrian refugee camps, and producing videos to educate and protect from emotional distress. The coins collected will go toward clean water, medicine, immunizations, nutrition, psychological and logistical assistance.
Any checks given in lieu of coins may be made out to the “U.S. Fund for UNICEF”.
