The parents and neighbors behind a movement to urge the town to reconsider a proposal to close Hardy Elementary School have launched a website to help spread their message. They had earlier created a Facebook page.
The town is considering the closure to address declines in both enrollment and school building condition, while also discussing refurbishing or rebuilding Hunnewell and Upham Elementary Schools.
Those pushing to keep all of the schools open decry a lack of public input into the process so far, and argue that closing Hardy would hurt property values and the feel of the neighborhood, among other things.
The draft summary report on the school project, plus other related documents, can be found on the town’s website.
