The Wellesley Field Fund reports that it is now about 18% of the way to its goal of raising $900K to fund a major makeover being planned for the sports field and surrounding track at Wellesley High School.
Shown here is the latest rendering of that project. If all goes according to plan, we could be looking at a refurbished field about a year from now that would benefit all community and school sports programs.
The WFF continues to try to raise awareness and encourage donations, such as via an informational event being held later this month at Wellesley Country Club.
Private funding would be combined with monies from Community Preservation and taxes in what’s described as a public-private partnership aimed at covering the roughly $2.5M project.
