Wellesley’s Pam Kuong fell just short of winning the US Women’s Senior Amateur golf championship Thursday in Nashville. Karen Garcia came from behind to seal a 1-up victory in the tournament, for women 50 or older.
An all-around athlete, Kuong was a record-holding swimmer at Wellesley High in the late 1970s. When not golfing, Kuong works as a senior VP at Bank of America.
Perhaps next year Kuong can grab the title right here in Wellesley — the tournament will take place at Wellesley Country Club.
