Swellesley diehard BethN shared this photo of workers taking a break high above the street at Wellesley’s Belclare luxury condo/retail development on Washington Street.
They’ve been working pretty darn hard of late, with hopes of rich residents and new businesses moving in by year-end.
The image no doubt is a bit more attractive for the Belclare team than some of the ones people have been emailing us about regarding protesters down on the street in recent weeks seeking payment by one of the subcontractors on the project.

Yuck! I cannot wait to move out of this town! It is way too congested and crowded. The roads are bad, the traffic is getting out of control..I can go on and on about this once country like town that has become a rural city! Not to mention chain restaurants, all the junk places that are coming in. The town I grew up in is no longer recognizable. I also notice that if they can’t build the mansions facing forward to the street, if they can’t fit then they build them sideways so their front door is facing your bedroom side of the house. Take a gander down Beechwood Road and you will see what I mean. More apartments they are building on Rt. 9 behind that Dunkin Donuts next to that hideous cell phone tower?? No thanx! We are outta here in 2 years..can’t wait!!!
