Ever since dress and gown designer Anna Nieman, who for two years kept a special-occasion clothing, jewelry and cosmetics boutique at 544 Washington St., moved to Newton Highlands last month, we’ve missed the sparkle and pizzazz her storefront window once offered. I’d play a little game called “I’d Totally Wear That/I’d Never Wear That” every time I passed by the frequently-changing window display of fancy attire. I miss day-dreaming about sequins and empire waist dresses while navigating reality in jeans and a fleece vest.
A hot spot like that can’t stay vacant for long, though. S.Y.B. Event Planning Services has etched their name on the door and appears poised to glide in and keep the party vibe going at that space. You may not be able to get special-occasion clothing there anymore, but SYB can help you plan for an event that requires special-occasion clothing. That’s loads of fun, too. Whether you’re putting together a bar or bat mitzvah, or just your garden-variety Wellesley Gothic Wedding, they will tend to the details, while you wend your way, carefree, across the dance floor.
Our New Year’s resolution: somehow scam an invite to an SYB party.
For two days all you hear is static on both channels. 8 and 9. What has happened ?
Angela: Hi, apparently its a Comcast issue, Verizon customers are unaffected. Wellesley Media says it has contacted Comcast. Perhaps you might want to do the same to see if that helps. Regards, TSR
