Dr. Ian Lapp has been named Dean of the Undergraduate School at Babson College, joining the Wellesley school from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he served as associate dean for strategic educational initiatives and lecturer on global health.
Babson serves up the obligatory academic/business speak in its announcement, terming Lapp as a “change agent” and as one known for having transformed “pedagogy…at the undergraduate and graduate level.” But indeed, Lapp has earned a national and international reputation for his efforts in public health education at Harvard and before that, Columbia University.
“Babson is an incubator for innovation in higher education, and I am excited to join this tradition of excellence,” said Dean Lapp, in a statement.
Lapp will officially join Babson in April.
