While the outdoor rinks at Wellesley’s Hunnewell Basketball Courts look to be more for roller skating than ice skating at the moment, the town’s Recreation Department plans to work with the DPW and Fire Department early next week to flood the rinks. With temperatures forecast to drop, the hope is that the rinks will freeze over next week.

Like last year there are 2 big rinks for skating and hockey, and one small one for little kids. It’s skating at your own risk, with no supervision or scheduling, and you’ll need to bring your own skates. The rinks are sponsored by Needham Bank.

The rinks will stay up as long as weather permits.
