The Wellesley High School basketball doubleheader on Friday night started off good with the girls gliding to a 49-39 win over Walpole High, and running their record to 13-1. Leo Sperling and Dorian Cohen led the way with double figures in scoring and rebounds.
But the Rebels’ boys team crushed Wellesley by a 55-33 score, with Wellesley barely making it into double figures by halftime. While the boys had trouble penetrating, they did get a decent number of good looks: they just missed over and over.
A supportive crowd hung in there, and helped raise gobs of cash on Think Pink night to support The Ellie Fund.
