Here’s a good chance to balance off the debauchery of Super Bowl Sunday with a nice dose of culture earlier in the day: The Wellesley Symphony Orchestra presents its next concert on Feb. 7 at 3pm at MassBay Community College in Wellesley.
Max Hobart will lead the symphony in a world premiere performance of Ringing Chimes by David Archibald with percussionist Kelly Farewell, On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring by Frederick Delius, Sea Pictures with mezzo-soprano Rebecca Krouner, and Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 6.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students and seniors, and free for children under 12. They can be purchased at Walgreens in Wellesley, Wellesley Books, Steinert Pianos in Natick, online, at the door, or by calling 781-235-0515. There is plenty of free parking. Preconcert talk at 2:15 by Leslie Holmes, orchestra board president.
