Covered Meals, a new business that delivers healthy meals to your home, has begun bringing its deliciousness to Wellesley, Needham and Newton for starters.

Leading the charge is chef Johnny Burke, whose experience includes cooking at numerous Boston restaurants as well as providing private dining and event management.

Covered Meals’ attraction to Wellesley stems from doing private dinners here for a few customers for years. The bootstrapped business started in late 2015 with a few families and officially launched in January 2016.

“We are building a business whose primary mission is to get more families eating healthy dinners around one table during the week. When you speak with most professionals that seems like an impossibility, but we like to say ‘We’ve got it Covered!'”, the business says.

A tech-savvy operation, Covered Meals texts customers at the start of the week with the menu for Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, its current drop-off days. Customers then respond to the text with which days they would like meals to be delivered. Meals come ready to heat and eat.

Customers can work with Covered Meals to determine exactly where their meals are delivered: At the door, in a garage fridge or cooler, etc. Deliveries are made between 1-3pm.

Covered Meals, which charges $20 per person for a 3-course meal, is especially proud of its soups and salads, and says its meals feature seasonally sourced foods. Here’s a look at the current menu (for a more visual look, check out Covered Meals’ Instagram account).
