Eddie Barry, Wellesley High grad who played for Boston Bruins, passes away at 96

Condolences to the family of Eddie Barry, a Wellesley High School graduate who played in a handful of games for the Boston Bruins in the 1940s, has died in Needham at the age of 96.

We wrote last year about how the UMass Boston hockey rink was named after Barry, a notable area college coach.

Barry spent many years in the insurance industry and was an accomplished amateur golfer. You can read more about him in this obituary from the Boston Globe. Services for Barry have already been held.
