Full schedule of Wellesley running races ahead

March 14, 2016 by Bob Brown Leave a Comment

As has become a tradition, Wellesley welcomes runners of all talent levels each Spring for a host of races.

The big one, of course, is the Boston Marathon on April 18.

But don’t overlook these other events. There’s still plenty of opportunity to train, if you’re interested in partaking…

*Wellesley Community Children’s Center Fun Run and Fun Fair: March 19, 8:30am-noon.

Okay, technically this happens the day before Spring, but close enough.

The 36th annual event, which will be held inside the Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse at Wellesley College’s Keohane Sports Center, features children’s running races (ages 3-12), games and activities, stuffed animal and book sales and face painting. A silent auction and raffle will give participants a chance to win  Celtics tickets, a Koji Uehara autographed baseball, a Lyn Evans girls night out, and a Jillian’s Billiards “pool” party for 20 people. The event also includes an Independent School and Summer Camp Fair.

More info available at www.wccc.wellesley.edu. It’s $7 to register. Additional siblings are $3 each. All proceeds from the event support the Wellesley Community Children’s Center’s Early Childhood and After School Programs.
